"From nature back to nature" is our slogan for a unique new development in flower pots. Delta Proterra is a new company, based in the Netherlands, that starts Jan. 1 2012 the sale of pots made from 100% natural materials (bamboo fiber, rice, vegetable dye and resin plant). The pots can be made in many colors, shapes and sizes, as colorful decorative pot. "Growers pots" are available in black or terra color.
The pots are completely bio-degradeble when placed in soil or compost. Filled with potting soil the pot does not spill or break. No dirty hands, waste or breakage at the place of sale.
The rate of degradable can be controlled by varying the amount of raw material and thickness of the pot. A 'growers pot' can be significantly thinner and lighter than one made as decorative pot and breaks down faster, but still sturdy enough for transport to the garden center or supermarket.
When the pot remains in use as a decorative pot and air (at least 1 side) remains exposed, it remains intact and is even dishwasher suitable.
